Finally.. After almost a week to the hour, the GSR is back up and running, with a supercharger.. I gotta love it
It seemed like fate - I got screwed on so many little things during this install, that I was thinking it would never be working.. Even today, around 6pm, I got hosed. I had everything together, coolant and oil were in, everything was ready to fire up and do initial testing/inspection.. I get in and crank her over.. And the stupid thing turns over maybe 3 or 4 times and grinds to a halt.. Dead battery.. So I get a new one and the auto zone across the street and she takes right off. No fuel, coolant, or vacuum leaks, as far as I can tell.. So it's good, and I must say that it is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. And the sound with the big short intake is awesome.. I love it because it's unique - there's a lot of big turbo cars, loud tinny rice imports, and big growling V8s around here... But not many people are sporting a whiny turbojet type timbre..
I thought I'd take a few moments to pass on a bit of knowledge that I gathered through my dire installation process.
1. The supercharger is much easier to take out if you pull the battery.
2. It's critical to remove absolutely 100% of the old intake gasket before putting on the manifold.. Like 100% shiny. I probably spent 4-5 hours with a razor scraper and acetone.. There must be an easier way.
3. Installing the oil separator box sucks.. It's in a really tight space, and you have to make sure that the main wiring harness is out of the way.
4. The JRSC instructions, for the most part, suck. Their phone service, however, does not. I read several of the instructions from the manual verbatim to Keith, and he flat-out said they were wrong. He got me straightened out.
5. You can get helms manuals from www.helminc.com.. The haynes and chilton manuals are rather lacking.
6. Setting timing on a GSR sucks. I made it much easier by dabbing white-out on the crank pulley and timing cover arrow, and using an advance timing analyzer. I think it's worth it to shell out the $70 at sears or auto zone for the advance timing gun, because then you can simply align the TDC mark and read the timing off the dial on the gun. I'd bet that it's more accurate than guessing where 7 degrees is on the pulley too.

Congrats on the blower install....
What is your timing set at along with your fuel setup?
Does it feel good?
I love mine although the only problem I have with mine is that if I'm in first gear and hammer it at about 5,500-6,000 RPM my stock tires break free and start spinning!! Talk about some freaking power...muhahaha.

The timing is at about 7 degrees right now - even though I pretty much always use 93 octane, I figured I'd rather be on the safe side for now.. Fuel pump and injectors are stock - I'll be getting the walbro pump soon..
It seems to be a little on the lean side - at WOT I get 3 yellows and 2 greens or so.. I thought it was looking a little lean before the install, and maybe it was the o2 sensor, so I installed a new o2 sensor. But that didn't change things very much, so now I'm thinking it may be the pump..
It feels nice, but the past couple of days I've been driving my friend's 400hp eclispe GSX.. So in reference to that car it feels really slow.. I just gotta take a couple of days to get used to the torque curve.
I'm going to tighten up the belts a bit and check/set the static fuel pressure today - I'll get back w/ more stats after that. The FP seems a little low - I'm maxing out at about 75-80 psi.. But the boost seems a little low also - It's barely getting above 5psi.. Seems a lot of people on this board are getting close to 8psi with the 6psi kit.

Unfortunately I heard about the Hondata gasket too late - I prolly would have bought it a couple of weeks ago when I was getting parts but by the time I was aware of its existence I was already in the middle of the install...
I had a fun time today though - I was driving the car just about 2 miles to return a movie, and I started smelling fuel.. Then it started bogging and dying like a sick puppy.. So I pulled it off to a road that was closed for construction, and popped the hood.. After a short inspection I found that it was spraying fuel from junction of the rail and the injectors..
Then, out of nowhere, a taxi appeared. He took me back to my place, where I picked up four new injector O-rings (which I had bought but not installed) and a bit of oil.. We went back, I pulled off the fuel rail in about 5 minutes, and sure enough - all of the O-rings were torn. I figure it's because my dumb ass put the injectors into the rail when the rings were dry, and I had to force them in extremely hard. So I got it all patched up in about 10 minutes on the side of the road, and once again I'm good to go!

Congrat on your new installation. If you don't have a HO fuel pump like Walbro GS-432, get one...Jim (JRCivic) has them at very decent price.
Also, I hope you put in the rear insert mount and Hondata gasket...otherwise, it might be too late...like me
